Work vs School

The main difference between work life and school life....Is the ability to take a day off for U2 related activities.

It pisses me off that : -
a) I didnt see the book signing invitation on time cos I cant access hotmail from work. Jeez!
b) Even if I had been picked, I wouldn't have been able to go see the boys as I'm expected to be at work all times....i cant take leave as I have just started working.

The smell of the U2 induced euphoria is driving me mad right now....with excitement. Shivers run up my back as i think of the boys assembling at the Barnes & Noble at Union Square and meeting fans. I am soo happy for the people who will be able to have this amazing experience! Think about it...meeting all 4 of them at one shot. Getting to shake their hands and getting their autographs....WOW!

I wonder if the boys would be able to hear my heart beat ridiculously fast 20 mins away? Would they be able to sense my excitement and fervor? All the happy and intense memories come flooding back from last year....oh dear!

Good luck to all who are making the signing event tomorrow... :-) You are lucky!

Cheers,
-Amrita

actually i watched u2 in concert in new orleans back in the day, it was so good. actually they were a band that i didn't really know until i went to the concert... almost every song i was like, "that's a u2 song???? I never knew."

That's so cool, you have a t-shirt called mrs. edge signed by the edge! actually don't worry i fell to pieces too when i met mammootty... well actually i didn't know it was him and i was normal but when i found out it was him i couldn't speak any more... star struck you see... if you understand malayalam i've blogged about it here.

OK , 1st comment on this otherwise awesome blog so i will try to stay civil. Meeting the EDGE and now book signings ??? D*!@% you, lady, D@#$% you :) ! (Wow, venting my envy felt really good !) Seriously, great reads and I caught the "Vertigo Tour" In Chicago for my B'day. Needless to say, priceless...

@Mos: Yeah, it's the invasion of the Warriers ;) But I'm couldn't be happier about it... :P :)
Ehh...dude...you were star struck over Mammootty? Ahem! ....
(and I wish I could read Malayalam)

@Lova: Welcome to me blog... :) Great way to celebrate your birthday! I'm sure we'll have more U2 related discussions soon.

Hello Amrita,
Sorry for spamming your space but as Mos predicted, you really got me going with all those U2 related posts. So I sense that you are a long time fan therefore you probably slightly favor the old albums over the new ones (like me). Still, 2 "recent" tracks did not get the review they deserved IMO and that's "in a little while" and "Miracle drug". In your opinion, what are the best U2 songs I have not heard of yet ? (again apologies for the out of control spamming :)). Cheers,

@Lova: you're right...i love the old albums more than the new ones. War, Pop (another underrated album IMO), Achtung Baby and Joshua Tree are probably my favorites. What are yours? (Oh, October rocks too)

'In a little while' is my absolute favorite song from ATYCLB. I can get completely lost when I listen to it....love love love it. It should definitely get more kudos.

'Miracle Drug'...eh...it's a good song...but i'm not particlarly fond of it. Find it whiny...(dont kill me)

Hmm...songs you might not have heard before....'Are you gonna wait forever', stuff from the Golden Collection

No apologies needed.... ;)

Cheers!

well mammooty to mallus is like amitabh to up-ites... grew up watching movies of the guy and i couldn't even recognise him... i'll translate the post some day on the other blog, i'm sure it'll make for fun reading. well now you have an invasion of the gingaboo daddies on your blog in addition to warriers and random african guys (me and lova)so this is officially a happening place!

Hello amrita,
10% Agreed with your album choices although I would add "Rattle and Hum" (just because of "In the name of love" and "All I want is you").
I will add this bit of U2 related news
(last one I promise) because I am an adoptive "New-Orleanian". You probably already knew the EDGE's work over there but just in case....
take care

Amrita, sorry for posting this here ...

but

@ Mosilager - You couldnt recognise Mammukka ?? :P

ammu said...

@Mos:- Umm Mos...my blog was always a happening place :-P

@Lova:- What do you mean '10%' ?? I'll assume that's a type :P And yeah, I do know about Music Rising. In fact a big group of us got together and persuaded U2 management to release the Music Rising tshirts for fund raising. I have one too...it's beautiful

@Rajesh:- :)

100% is what I meant :). I want that shirt ! Although the Mrs. Edge is pretty funny :)

rajesh well it was some years since i heard malayalam spoken so when i heard it behind me I didn't even focus on who was saying it other than I heard my language... that sort of distracted me from the familiar voice. Also, the dude was not in his trademark white shirt, suit, and shoes and looked completely like a normal uncle-type (albeit with better fashion / fitness sense). i challenge anyone else to do better!
it's ok some dude on the mallu blog commented that one of his buddies failed to recognise salman khan!
amrita due apologies... i meant it's re- happening after the whole non-internet availability related non-blogging hiatus.

@Lova:- Good! :) I got the Mrs.Edge one made by myself. The graphic was designed by my dearest friend Max.

@Mos:- It took me a good 10 seconds to understand what you said...LOL!! but loved it!

excellent ! it took me a couple of tries to write it so nice to be appreciated!
